Slate for Media & Publishers

More content, same team, zero off-brand posts.

Media companies publish across dozens of shows, titles, and channels, every day. Slate gives your social team templates, a shared media library, and AI editing tools to turn any story, episode, or moment into on-brand content in minutes, without waiting on a designer.

How Slate does it

  • Breaking news in minutes, not a design ticket

Quote cards, Instagram clips, breaking-news graphics, and vertical video, all locked to your brand system. Any creator, social manager, reporter, or producer can build them from a phone or desktop and publish before the competition does.

  • Broadcast and interview footage into clips, in the property’s brand

Studio segments, interviews, red-carpet moments: trimmed, captioned, reframed for vertical, with the right show’s borders and lower thirds applied. Same workflow every clip, every property, at scale.

  • Podcasts and shows clipped by AI into a week of posts

Drop in an episode and Slate surfaces the strongest moments from the transcript, cuts them to length, and captions them in your style. One recording feeds a whole week of content.

  • One brand system across every show, vertical, and station

One account, a separate Brand Hub for every property. Each gets its own fonts, overlays, and team, so your sports desk, entertainment vertical, and local station each look like themselves. No one waits on design to get content out.

  • Rio cutting a 30-second captioned clip from a full podcast episode

Ask AI to cut down your footage.

“Pull the three strongest answers and make them vertical.” Slate's AI edits your real footage on a real timeline, in your brand.

More on Slate for media & publishers

  • Why do media companies use Slate?
Because the bottleneck in a newsroom, a sports network, or a podcast studio isn’t footage or ideas, it’s the handful of people who can edit. Slate lets reporters, producers, and hosts make on-brand video and graphics themselves from templates and presets the design team controls, so output scales without the queue. The Athletic runs 150 reporters through it; Sinclair’s news teams, NFL on Prime Video, Amazon, EA, and Vanity Fair use it across very different kinds of content.
  • Can we run multiple properties, shows, or stations in one account?
Yes. Multiple Brand Hubs give each property its own fonts, overlays, templates, and users under one account, with permissions by role. A sports desk, an entertainment vertical, and a local station can share one Slate and never share a template by accident.
  • Does it work with broadcast footage and rights-managed content?
Slate edits the footage you bring in and applies your own brand assets; it doesn’t source or generate footage. The music library is licensed for digital use, and your own cleared tracks can be uploaded. Rights to the footage itself stay with you and your partners.
  • How does it scale to a newsroom of 150?
Permission levels keep brand assets with the people who own them while everyone else creates. Shared projects let editors review the live edit, status tags replace the spreadsheet, and the mobile app carries the brand kit to the field.
  • How is this different from Premiere plus Frame.io?
Premiere is built for editors; Slate is built for everyone else on the desk, and senior producers tell us it’s easier even for them. Review happens on the live project instead of a rendered export, so the Frame.io round-trip disappears. Publishers also stop paying for editing seats that were only ever used for captions.
  • What about accuracy and accessibility?
Captions are editable word by word before export, and SRT files travel with the video for platforms and accessibility requirements. Nothing publishes without a person approving it.
