Ever had three caption drafts buried in your Notes app, or a Google Doc full of quotes from a podcast episode, and a boss Slacking you “can we make that clip longer so it feels more natural?”?
Yeah. Same.
That’s the life of running brand social. You’re juggling half a dozen tools, trying to stay on-brand, and still getting posts out the door before legal changes their mind. September’s updates are built to make that chaos a little less… chaotic.
We cut the busywork, added ways to stay consistent, and even slipped in some fun creative touches. Here’s what’s new 👇
Transcript Exports
Scrubbing through a 10-minute video just to grab one quote is a special kind of hell. Now you don’t have to.
Slate automatically turns your video into text, so you can:
Copy it straight to your clipboard. Drop a line into Slack or a doc without rewatching.
Export captions (.srt). Upload to YouTube or LinkedIn and skip the manual typing.
Download the full transcript. Use it as the bones of a blog post or newsletter.

Adjustable Moments
AI is great at pulling highlights. But sometimes it chops off the laugh too soon, or leaves in a pause that kills the vibe. That's why we believe that AI is a great tool to help you find the clips, but you should always be able to stay in control. Now you can fix that instantly.
Drag handles to trim or extend.

Text Editing Tools
This is great for those who needs to fix things on a fly. You’re exporting a Reel and notice auto-captions turned “launch” into “lunch.” (Been there.) Instead of redoing the whole thing, you can now fix it right on canvas. Here are some of the capabilities:
Inline edits: Change font, color, size without leaving the screen.
Captions editing: Tweak wording before posting.
Template edits: Break free from “one-style fits all” templates — customize individual lines without breaking brand rules.

Sticker Effects
Sometimes you just want your product shot or player cutout to pop. But opening Photoshop for a glow outline? That’s an extra unnecessary step.
Now you can add sticker effects directly in Slate. Things like:
Drop Shadows, Glow, Retro styles
Adjustable outlines for contrast
Rounded corners for a softer look

Why This Release Hits Different
Social managers don’t necessarily care about “features.” They care about whether posts ship faster, look cleaner, and don’t cause an internal brand police meltdown and a call from legal.
Transcripts = no rewatching.
Adjustable Moments = AI + human judgment.
Text Editing tools = fixes in the flow.
Stickers = flair without a designer.
We built these because we’ve sat in your chair. We’ve had to play around with styling on screen texts, and panicking about fonts. Slate is made by people who’ve actually run social, and it’s meant to save you from the pain we know all too well.
