But when it comes to the world of sponsorships on social media, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who does it better. We picked Alec’s brain to see how one of the best in the biz is looking at sponsorships.
Set It & Forget It — Logo sometimes too small? Logo sometimes too big? Have no fear when you can lock it in once and keep it moving. Partners pay the bills & when you can give them a consistent brand treatment across their feature, it creates an authentic integration that makes partner and club happy.
Keep It Real — No one likes the phrase “just slap a logo on it.” Not the partner, not the social team. Find ways to integrate their brand in an authentic way that promotes the both of you. It doesn’t have to be all partner or all team — it’s a balance.
Order Up! — During your offseason, create a “menu” for your partnership teams (and their partners) to choose from. This bucket of pre-approved concepts, ideas, and features are things you are already planning to do but can bring a partner along for the ride.
Listen & Learn — Talk to your partnership team. Get a feel for what the partner wants out of their activation. It’s not one size fits all — try to tailor your execution to better suit their needs when you can. Bring new ideas to the table that you think can help achieve their goals. Make it a true partnership.
BONUS! Bridge the Gap -- You're an expert in social. They're an expert in partnerships. Bring your expertise to the table in a productive way that can help arm your Partnerships Team to go back to their partners with the proper information and answers. We're all in this together.
