MSU Moorhead Athletics becomes Slate’s first D-II client
The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons became the first NCAA Division II athletics program to partner with Slate to help power its social content creation. Through the partnership, MSUM will be able to produce an unlimited amount of branded social media content across all sports using the Slate platform.
“The GO! TEAM has become the standard of sports innovation within our league and beyond,” said MSUM Athletics Director Chad Markuson. “Slate will be a valuable tool in keeping the Dragons on that cutting edge, help us generate revenue, and showcase our incredibly talented student-athletes.”
Markuson went on to say, “As a bonus our MSUM students will get to use the same tools the pros are using right now in the NBA Finals, WNBA, NFL, Division I, etc. Making them more attractive to hire if they’re seeking a job in professional sports. We’re all going to get better with the help of this tool.”
“We’ve had amazing videographers, photographers, broadcasters, and designers,” said MSUM Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Production Jon Wepking. “The missing piece was getting all that great content out on social media quickly, easily, and on-brand. Slate fixes all of that for us with a fast, simple workflow we can scale to content creators at all levels.”
With such a range of sports to cover and a team of content creators made up of interns and students, universities have unique challenges to overcome when creating content that is consistent and high-quality. Slate will help the MSUM team to efficiently produce on-brand content regardless of who is using the platform, saving time and ensuring consistency across their multitude of handles.
