The Florida Gators became the latest University athletics program to partner with Slate to help power its social content creation.
Through the partnership, Florida will be able to produce an unlimited amount of branded social media content across its main athletic handles using the Slate platform.
“Within college athletics social media continues to play a large role in how we engage our fanbase, recruit athletes, service our sponsors, and forward our brand,” said Kevin Camps, Director of Creative Media and Branding for University of Florida Football. “It’s vital we have the tools we need to take our social content to the next level, and that is why we signed on with Slate. The simplicity and versatility of the platform has given us new ways to share moments within our program and give viewers a unique viewpoint on game day.”
“Slate will play a crucial role in allowing us to more seamlessly create on-brand social content for all social platforms, and we’re excited to be an early adopter in the university space because we are always trying to innovate,” added Camps.
Universities are faced with the unique challenge of maintaining brand consistency and quality content across multiple accounts with a high volume of events and games to cover, and a dispersed group of individual content contributors mobilized to help.
The new NIL rules are also challenging schools to find ways to innovate and to help further the brand of their student-athletes, especially on social media.
Slate helps solve these problems and saves university athletic teams time and resources in achieving their goals on social media.
“We’re so excited to partner with one of the most iconic brands in university athletics,” said Eric Stark, co-founder and COO of Slate. “With a brand as recognizable as Florida’s, it’s only more important that their content on social media represent the brand to its fullest. The highly talented social team at Florida has already used Slate in innovative ways and we can’t wait to see what else they can do with the tool in their hands.”
Slate is a creation platform that allows teams, leagues, and brands to elevate their social media content and branding. Founded in 2019 by former NFL and 49ers social media professionals, Slate is now used across every major US sports league, as well as universities, international clubs, brands in and outside of sports, and media organizations.
