Web Editor

Your Edit, Upgraded.

This Summer we're on a mission to make Slate your favorite video editor, starting with nailing the basics. In our first release, we've got a number of fixes, improvements and new shiny tools for your edits. ✨ New --- New timeline interface: A fresh interface focussed on editing and interacting with clips Timeline Toolbar: surfaces the most important actions based on your current clip selection Multi Select Clip: Select and move multiple clips at once, less clicks and fewer grey hairs per edit. Insert Clip: Add a clip between two others right in the timeline: keeps your workflow flowing Remove Gaps: zap every unwanted gap in your edit Add LinkedIn SafeZone to WCS: Create with confidence for LinkedIn's unique specifications 🚀 Improved --- Overlays: previews of Overlays have been updated for visual clarity Templates: Layers in templates now include layer names. Implement 3:4 Aspect Ratio: supporting Instagram's new format Zooming: we've improved zooming in the canvas Clip length: we removed the arbitrary minimum of 0.2s for clips More safe zones: added safe zones for for custom size canvases and standard with 9:16, 1:1 aspect ratios Better feedback when uploading video: The "Missing Media" notification was unhelpful, so we improved it to offer clearer feedback during your upload process 🔧 Fixed --- Noise Removal: we fixed an issue where denoise would not work if it had been cancelled previously and we now prevent multiple audio uploads. Missing Captions: Clips generated in Shortcuts would sometimes be missing captions once loaded. Captions follow clip trimming: previously when a clip with captions was extended captions for the newly extended part would not appear. Now they do. Captions lost off canvas: previously captions could be dropped outside the bounds of a canvas and disappear. Now they wont go off canvas Clip length being lost: some reported that the duration of non-video clips would disappear after a page refresh, or when opening a project Custom Aspect Ratios: previously custom dimensions would not always reflect in the canvas. Now they do.
