Lakers "Leave a Legacy" on Social with Slate

The Story
The Lakers organization's "Leave a Legacy" playoff campaign is inspired by Kobe's own words, and made all the more personal through powerful quotes from the players, coaching staff, and front office about the kind of legacy they each want to leave.
The Lakers turned to Slate to take the campaign to social media and, more specifically, Instagram Stories. For a campaign this personal, the creative assets had to be as well. So, the Lakers marketing team had every player write their own handwritten version of the Kobe quote.
With Slate, the social team is now able to personalize each clip with that player's own writing for a consistent and branded Instagram Stories look, and a personalized touch that the players themselves can be proud of. When LeBron has one of his signature dunks, the Lakers are able to post the highlight with Lebron's own handwritten "Leave a Legacy" border seconds after it happens. Using Slate has allowed the Lakers to cover their biggest games on Instagram Stories in new ways while incorporating their "Leave a Legacy" branding on every post, all while saving time and effort.
