How to set up and use Multi-Factor Authentication for your Slate account

Multi Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your slate account through the use of a 6 digit passcode that regenerates every 30 seconds

Setting Up

Setting up MFA

1. Sign into Slate on your desktop browser
2. Go to the My Profile page via the top right dropdown list
3. Find Multi-Factor Authentication (OFF) hit Turn On

 NOTE: If it says Multi-Factor Authentication (ON), you already have MFA enabled

• To setup MFA you’ll need a third-party authentication app on your device, like Google Authenticator (free) or 1Password (paid). It’s best to install the app on the device you normally use to access the Slate mobile app.
• Follow the steps provided by your chosen third-party authenticator to finish setup. Once enabled you’ll need to provide a unique, and frequently updated, password provided by your Authenticator App, every time you log into Slate.

Using MFA

Whenever you log into Slate on your mobile device you’ll be asked to provide a six digit code generated by your Password app.
