  3. Press the Captions button in the bottom navigation bar to start the transcription process
  4. Once transcribed, captions will be added on top of your media

Making text edits

  1. Once your captions are transcribed, tap the caption text or the captions button
  2. Tap the word or phrase that you want to make an edit on
  3. Retype the word or phrase as you would like it to show up on your content
  • During transcription, captions will automatically be divided into groups. You can split these groups by creating a new text line using the “Return” or “Enter” button on your keyboard.

Customizing caption font style

  1. Once your captions are transcribed, tap the caption text or the captions button
  2. Customize the font style (type, color, highlight, etc.) as you would with traditional text boxes in Slate
  • Once in the caption editor, you can select a single word or phrase to customize the style of that individual word or phrase.

Repositioning captions on your content

  1. Transcribe your captions
  2. Pinch to move the position of your captions
  • Helpful hint: Toggle our safe zones feature on while creating captions to make sure your captions are exactly where you want them!

Resizing captions

Once your captions are transcribed, there are two ways to resize them:

Resizing the text itself

  1. Tap the transcribed caption text or the captions button
  2. In the caption editor, use the slider size bar to resize
  • This option will resize the font itself and potentially change how the words fall within each caption group. Resizing fonts this way allows you more control to format text lines within a caption group.
  • Once in the caption editor, you can select a single word or phrase to resize that individual word or phrase.

OR

Resizing the captions box

  1. Transcribe your captions
  2. Pinch to move the position of your caption
  • This option will resize the “box” the captions live in as a whole. This will not change any formatting, only the size.
